Ian’s experience spans a wide array of industries including financial services (equity trading and derivatives), information technology (e.g., servers and storage, IT distribution), aerospace, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, real estate services, publishing, and delivery services.
Ian Hastings is a Competition EU and Trade Senior Associate at the London office of Pinsent Masons LLP, the international law firm. He advises on all aspects of competition law, with a particular focus on merger control, novel vertical questions, and the interaction between competition and intellectual property law.
Ian advises clients on highly complex merger control questions, having led clients through multiple in-depth investigations of the European Commission (three phase II investigations), the UK’s Competition and Market’s Authority, and many other national authorities.
Separately, Ian advises on WTO law, and in particular the implications of Brexit on supply chains
