Pinsent Masons has been named International Law Firm of Year at the prestigious Trophées du Droit awards in Paris.
The award was presented at an awards ceremony hosted in Paris in November. It follows a judging process overseen by a panel of some of the most influential in house lawyers and General Counsel in France.
Pinsent Masons secured the prestigious award after less than three years since opening in France. During that period it has secured a number of complex multi-jurisdictional mandates, including advising Electronics for Imaging on its acquisition of the Rhapso group, and acting for NN Inc on the Chinese, French and German aspects of its $300 million acquisition of Autocam Corporation.
The firm has also made a number of significant hires, bringing in Peter Rosher, Frederic Gillion and Eugenie Berthet from Clifford Chance, Fenwick Elliott and Marcus & Partners respectively. In addition, Pinsent Masons also brought in TMT specialists Diane Mullenex and Frederic Ichay.
In addition to winning International Law Firm of the Year, Pinsent Masons’ Technology, Media and Telecommunications group was also named a 'rising team' in the Best Specialised Team category.
The firm secured first prize following a string of trophy hires in recent years bolstering the firm's cross border capabilities in energy, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing and technology.
Paris office head at Pinsent Masons, Christoph Maurer, said: "We are delighted to have secured these awards at this year's Trophées du Droit. There was competition from a number of established global firms, but our clear commitment to excellence, the growth of our international network and the major cross border matters we were able to act on in our Paris office recently have undoubtedly made an impact on the market.
"This award is welcome recognition from both client and peers of what our Paris team has achieved so far, and I would like to thank both our clients and our people for having helped us to make such a strong start since launching."
