Pinsent Masons appoints third life sciences partner in Amsterdam

11 Feb 2022 | 09:25 am | 1 min. read

A year after launching its presence in The Netherlands, multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed its fifth partner in Amsterdam, welcoming life sciences patent specialist Judith Krens.

Joining the firm’s European life sciences team, and further strengthening its Netherlands-based technology, science and industry capabilities, Judith is both Dutch and US qualified and has vast experience acting on multijurisdictional matters – particularly for pharma and biological companies.

Recognised by Managing Intellectual Property as being in the Top 250 Women in IP globally, Judith is also the co-founder and board member of the Female Intellectual Property Experts – a women’s network for intellectual property professionals.

Commenting on Judith’s appointment, global head of IP & life sciences, Clare Tunstall said:

“Judith is a fantastic addition to our European life sciences team. Being a forum of choice in European patent actions, The Netherlands is a key jurisdiction for our clients. As an international market leader, Judith’s cross-border patent litigation and medicines regulatory expertise enables us to fully support clients in this important market.”

With a degree in chemistry and law, Judith joins a full-service team where many hold relevant scientific qualifications and degrees, including in genetics, medicinal chemistry, human biology, and biochemistry – testament to the in-depth sector focus of the firm.

Commenting on her appointment, Judith Krens added:

"Pinsent Masons shows a real passion for the life sciences sector and I am impressed by their approach of being a strategic partner for their life sciences clients by offering a fully integrated practice across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, I am delighted to see the firm’s commitment to having women in leadership positions. I am convinced that diverse and inclusive teams not only make people happier but can really bring the services offered to the highest level. I am tremendously proud to join the firm and I hope to be able to bring on board both my experience as a life sciences specialist and a female leader and contribute to further growth."

Judith will work closely with recently appointed partners András Kupecz and Machteld Hiemstra.
